Family Law - Unified Family Court


The mission of the Unified Family Court of the 19th Judicial Circuit is a commitment to developing a fully integrated, comprehensive approach to handling all cases involving children and families in a prompt and efficient manner.  Once of the goals of Unified Family Court is to avoid conflicting orders, so it is important that the judge knows of any other cases you or your family members has been involved. As established in Amended Administrative Order 07-13, the jurisdiction of the Unified Family Court Division of the 19th Judicial Circuit is:

  • Dissolution of marriage
  • Annulment
  • Support unconnected with dissolution of marriage
  • Paternity
  • Child Support
  • URESA/UIFSA
  • Custodial care of and access to children
  • Adoption
  • Name change of adults and minors
  • Declaratory judgment actions related to premarital, marital, or post-marital agreements
  • Civil domestic and repeat, dating and sexual violence injunctions
  • Juvenile dependency
  • Termination of parental rights
  • Juvenile delinquency
  • Emancipation of a minor
  • CINS/FINS
  • Truancy
  • Modification and enforcement of orders entered in these above-listed cases
  • Parental notification of termination of pregnancy
