In the 19th Judicial Circuit, commercial mortgage foreclosure cases and residential lien foreclosure cases, except residential mortgage foreclosures, are assigned to the circuit civil division in the respective counties. Residential mortgage foreclosure cases are assigned according to the Administrative Order establishing judicial assignments for those particular cases. This circuit utilizes case managers to assist with managing residential mortgage foreclosure cases. Additional dockets have been set in St. Lucie County to provide more hearing time to increase the court's ability to effectively manage the large number of residential mortgage foreclosure filings. The procedures for setting residential mortgage foreclosure cases on dockets to be heard in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court should be strictly followed. Failure to comply with the procedures may result in your case not being heard. Please see the judge's individual procedures for cases set before: Judge Cox in Indian River County, Judge McCann in Martin County, and Judge Sweet in Okeechobee County.

Attorneys may schedule Special Set Motions (1 hour or under) using the online scheduling program. Parties will be restricted to the time they allotted for the hearing. The calendar will indicate when the UMC, Pre-Judgment, and Post-Judgment hearings are to be scheduled. The website is https://slccjis.stlucieco.gov/attorney_calendar. Users must register to obtain a user id and password on the site. Copies of motions and notice of hearings must be sent to the Judicial Assistant. The Court reserves the discretion to reject any scheduling. Attorneys who repeatedly abuse the online scheduling may be denied further privileges of self-scheduling. Non-evidentiary motions may be denied without hearing, e.g., motions to dismiss.
Longer hearings must be set with the Judicial Assistant after sending a copy to the Judicial Assistant. Attorneys should consult the Judge’s on-line calendar (link below) and confer with opposing counsel on mutually convenient dates before calling the J.A.
